The action continues

Sunday was a pretty boring lazy day. We had nothing to do, so we hung out and got food several times. We went to our favorite little neighborhood pub and had a few pints of beer. Have yet to try all of the varieties, but it is interesting that Stella Artois is essentially the Natural Light beer of the UK. They make fun of it, people in Arizona are classy when they drink that. Interesting the difference.

Today was the first day of class, and not much was going on. We learned everyones names and then went through a game on the cultural experience and differences between countries.

Off to Oxford Circus right now to find an APPLE store.

Did you see any American beers available? What is the reaction to them?

How many ASU students are in your group? What types of jobs will they have in London?

It's fun to be able to read your posting and know about your experiences. Of course, there are many questions about the sights, sounds, smells, etc. of the area. The Victoria and Albert Museum is in that area, so I have an idea of the surroundings. The Natural History Museam is in your area also.

First, I want to know all about the local cafes and coffee shops. I'm curious about the "Starbucks effect" on other places in the world. Is sustainability still a big issue in restaurants?

Are you in an academic area? How does it compare to Tempe? What does your apartment look like? How many rooms? Are you cooking there or eating out? Are you having pub food or food from the neighborhood? Where are your classes held? What do you have to do to get to your office tomorrow?

We are definately not in an academic area. This is Kensington and Chelsea, the royal borough. I walk in the footsteps of royalty such as Princess's Diana and Margaret. We have seen actress and model Sienna Miller walking around the streets. These are extremely expensive places. We have flats at work being rented for £20,000 per week. The average 2 bedroom flat without anything will cost approximately £1,000,000. We have been cooking and eating out. There is a 24 hour grocery store right down the road from our flat. Our class was held in a church on the first day because it was a bank holiday. The other classes will be held at Richmond University.

To get to my office it is easiest to take the Tube. It is only one stop. It is not a bad walk, but if it is raining then its best to stay underground. There is a walking subway from the tube station almost all the way to my office. The office I work in only has four desks and 5 people working there (including me). Estate sales are very interesting, and I will map out more when I understand in greater detail.
